According Alejandra Ferrer, the Councillor for Tourism of Formentera, about 200 rental properties will be legalized as tourist stay.
This will be achieved through the adoption of the new law of Balearic Tourism which provides for the regulation of those tourist holiday homes that are traded in the summer and do not have an Urban Lease contract.
Representatives of all politician parties, the Pimef, travel agencies and real estates attended yesterday to a meeting with Ferrer to make their contributions to the new regulations.
The houses which join this plan, must meet certain mandatory requirements and also optional requirements that will serve to raise the score in quality.
An annual 400€ Canon per house might be established to be able to participate the plan. However this matter is under discussion taking in to account that houses have different numbers of bedrooms and therefore different margins of costs and benefits.
