This Sunday took place the 4th edition of the Sant Antoni's "Neteja Popular Sa Talaia" called by the City Council of this town.
15 volunteers have been responsible for clearing the forest of Sa talaia of all types of waste that disrespectful and unaware people have been throwing to the forest instead of using landfills which are dedicated for this purpose.
Among the rubbish things like tires, wooden planks or even a motorcycle were collected.
The objective of this activity is to educate everyone about the importance of maintaining clean natural to continue conserving our beautiful landscapes and prevent disasters such as forest fires or the completely avoidable and unnecessary pollution.
In the words of the councilor of Environment Lidia Prats, "Using the forest as landfills is more expensive not just economically but also environmentally and logistically, than using landfills."
And for those who have not yet developed a conscience own century we live in and need other kind of reason to understand certain things, it is helpful to know that throwing residues would infringe the rules and carries significant economic penalties and even jail depending on the damage.
