The first day of the strike called by Iberia's workers have occurred yesterday at the airport in Ibiza with a protest of about a hundred workers. All of them with flags and banners that showed their opposition to the "dismantling that employers want to make the company".

Many of the protesters were discontinuous permanent workers who now are not working as the permanent workers were summoned to work for minimum services.

According to them, since British Airways have been merged with Iberia everything started to get worse, while up to this moment they managed to solve their problems "at home", now not even get their proposals to be heard.

The staff of the company on the island counts about 60 to 65 permanent employees along the year and up to 250 employees in season. The proposed measures entail the dismissal of 14 of the fix employees (6 and 8 administrative workers) and a wage decline that could range from 23% to 28% or 30% for all workers.
